We are seeking a Survey Technician I to join our team in the Wilmington, DE office.
The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker, willing to learn through trial and error, self-motivated, and willing to put the full effort into the task at hand. The candidate should have a strong desire to grow and advance as a surveyor, survey technician, and/or technical designer.
This is a unique opportunity to jump in on the ground floor of a growing survey team in a thriving environment. You will be supporting the surveying needs on multi-disciplined engineering and environmental projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic area. This is a great opportunity, whether you are just getting into this field or looking to take the next step in your career. There are opportunities for both office and fieldwork and to learn more about the land surveying practices from a registered professional land surveyor.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist Registered Professional Land Surveyor with land surveying, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and construction layout, technical, civil engineering design or provide Project Management
Perform technical surveying and engineering-related work associated with land development projects:
Land Surveying
Processing of survey data – field to finish processing
Preparation of existing conditions base plans in AutoCAD
stormwater management design
site grading and erosion & sediment control design
prepare plans for agency/municipal review
completion of various land development permitting applications
attend meetings with surveyors, engineers, and technicians
Demonstrate the ability to communicate, both orally and written, effectively
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree in surveying and/or civil engineering technology from an ABET-accredited institution is preferred, but not required.
0 – 3 years of experience in surveying
Surveying field experience preferred, but not required.
Familiarity with AutoCAD required – familiarity with Civil 3D preferred
Must have a valid driver’s license
