Job Description
ENSCO Inc. is seeking an engineer with a strong technical background to join the Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) Enterprise Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) Space Segment team. The SE&I Space Team provides engineering, technical analysis and subject matter expertise (SME) for the Global Positioning System (GPS) supporting the Space Systems Command (SSC). Through a wide scope of systems engineering activities, the SE&I Space Segment team is responsible for space segment integration within the larger PNT enterprise, space vehicle technical advisement, analysis of space vehicle design, space segment risk assessment, acquisition, spacecraft design, payload integration, and oversight of production operations.As a member of our PNT SE&I team, you’ll work in a high-paced environment with Space Force personnel and system developers to ensure GPS remains the gold standard for position, navigation and timing. The qualified candidate for the Space Segment Technical Baseline Lead Engineer role will be an essential asset to the PNT SE&I Space Segment Team and a significant contributor to the technical baseline needs of the customer.Major duties of the position include:
Leads in all major technical baseline changes to GPS Space Segment related requirements
Actively engages the customer with all technical baseline changes occurring within the Space Segment
Manages requirement deviations and waivers (Request For Variances) from satellite prime contractor
Leads other engineers of GPS Space Segment requirements tracing for the Enterprise Technical Baseline
Provides satellite/space vehicle technical expertise and systems integration support to ensure an optimal integrated space system
Facilitates requirements development across the GPS Enterprise and stakeholders
Provides technical expertise for requirement development related to space vehicle and payload design
Qualifications Required (Skills)
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Math, or Science and minimum of 6 years of related experience
Experienced with DoD related technical baseline change processes
Experienced using DOORS
Demonstrated experience reviewing and delivering technical documents and briefings
Strong interpersonal skills to enable working, interfacing, and interrelating with diverse personnel and dynamic teams
Excellent analytical and organizational skills, specifically attention to detail
AN ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITON, FOR WHICH YOU MUST BE A US CITIZEN.
Qualifications Desired
Active Top Secret Clearance
Space vehicle as well as other GPS related experience is highly desired
Experience and familiarity working with DoD acquisition organizations
Experience analyzing and resolving proposed technical changes to technical baseline (i.e., interface documents, specifications documents, architecture products) using sound systems engineering discipline
Experience working specifically on a Systems Engineering and Integration contract
Experience and familiarity with satellite subsystems and payloads
Experience and familiarity with reviewing and editing Government technical documents
Experience with developing or evaluating software
Understanding of System Engineering practices, techniques, and procedures
