Description :
National Coatings and Supplies Inc. is expanding in the area and we would like you to join our team. We are looking for an experienced Shipping and Receiving Supervisor. The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor is responsible for scheduling deliveries and distribution of products, parts, and accessories to achieve distribution objectives and meet customer requirements. Ensures maintenance of equipment and a safe, clean, work environment. Annual Salary up to $50,000 per year DOE.
Duties & Responsibilities
Supervise, motivate, and assign specific responsibilities to distribution center associates to ensure customer satisfaction.
Coordinate work with operations manager, warehouse manager, production supervisor, and the call center concerning shipments, freight damage, merchandise shortages, etc.
Monitor employee productivity, accuracy, and other performance markers and provides coaching and training to employees as required.
Provide input into hiring, termination, and disciplinary decisions.
Ensure orders are picked, packed, and shipped in accordance with designated cut-off times.
Enforce all Company work and safety rules.
Supervise the daily work schedules of team members involved in performing a combination of: shipping, receiving, loading and unloading trucks, stacking, picking and palletizing finished products
Ability to open and close the distribution center
Ensure the proper handling and recording of all hazardous materials shipped out.
Ability to use computer and bar-coding equipment in a “paperless” warehouse work environment
Recommend changes in procedures to improve the operating efficiency of the unit.
Ensure maintenance of equipment and a safe, clean, work environment.
Qualifications & Education Requirements
Associates Degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred
1 – 3 years of warehouse experience, such as receiving, picking, and stocking inventory, preferred
6 months- 1 year of previous supervisory experience is preferred but not required at this level
Knowledgeable in LTL freight management a plus
Ability to use handheld bar code scanning equipment in a paperless warehouse is required. Ability to stand and walk up to 6 hours at a time is required
Ability to lift 20 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. on occasion is required
Ability to make decisions regarding orders and work assignments promptly Demonstrated lead-worker or supervisory skills.
Preferred Skills
Knowledgeable in DOT Hazmat shipping regulations preferred
