JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Residence Life Office at Hazleton is looking for a dynamic and energetic individual to join the team. The Isolation and Quarantine Coordinator is a vital part of the team in helping to continue to the vision and mission of the department. They are responsible to the Associate Director for all isolation and quarantine related tasks as well administrative responsibilities while students are not in isolation or quarantine.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
I. Isolation and Quarantine
a. Passive programming
i. Create educational materials to support RL initiatives, educational pieces that could assist with pro-actively addressing behaviors,
ii. Create bulletin boards and electronic marketing materials that support campus campaigns
iii. Develop social media content in alignment with RL initiatives
b. Hear low level conduct cases to do with masking/physical distancing
c. Tabling: should this be needed to distribute masks, hand sanitizer, etc.
d. Fielding Q&A chats, seeking correct information from campus authorities, sharing pre-approved messages/Q&A responses as developed by the campus
e. Coordinate student check-in process at the hotel (does not include reservations)
f. Update Q&I room information as needed
g. Anything that would need to be done administratively that has to deal with Q&I (tracking spreadsheets, track/communicate student concerns at off-campus hotels)
h. Potential duty including overnights in off-campus locations
II. Student Development and Residence Education
a. Assists with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a residence education program for the area.
b. Assists with the development and implementation of campus-wide programs.
c. Makes referrals to campus and community agencies when appropriate.
d. Encourages student involvement and their programming efforts.
e. Acts as an advocate for students by communicating their concerns and issues to the appropriate agency.
f. Interprets and enforces University and residence hall policies and procedures.
g. Mediates conflicts between and among students.
III. Administration
a. Assists with the daily operation and organization of the area and the area office.
b. Handles requests for room changes and contract releases in collaboration with Housing staff.
c. Assists in promoting the safety and security of residents.
d. Assists in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with Housing and Food Services, Police and Public Safety, Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, etc.
IV. Community Development
a. Demonstrates a commitment to students and the quality of their life in the residence hall environment.
b. Assists the Resident Assistants in developing and promoting a positive living environment.
c. Demonstrates a commitment to human relations/diversity/social justice issues.
d. Plans and implements programs in conjunction with Resident Assistants and students.
e. Demonstrates a commitment to staff and student retention and recruitment efforts, particularly as they impact members of underrepresented groups.
V. Miscellaneous
a. Performs other duties as assigned.
This is a limited-term appointment funded through April 30, 2023.
This position requires the following education and experience
1+ years related experience
Bachelor’s Degree or higher; Master’s Degree preferred
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
