Position : PROJECT MANAGER I
Description :
Phase Genomics works with scientists from across the globe to manage and execute their unique genome assembly and metagenome deconvolution projects. The Project Manager I is responsible for the management and coordination of a project’s activities to ensure that goals and objectives of the project(s) are accomplished. Management efforts include scheduling and budgeting activities and coordinating with team leads to complete project objectives. This person will be responsible for monitoring the project’s progress and communicating updates, issues, and successes to stakeholders (internal and external).
Note: Project(s) typically associated with this level have a somewhat narrow scope/impact on the organization, include a limited number of staff devoted to the project (usually <3), are small to moderate sized projects, and have a limited budget to complete the project.
This is a remote position with occasional travel to Seattle required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set project timeline
Monitor project deliverables
Update relevant stakeholders or team members on the project progress
Leading a project team with multiple internal and external stakeholders
Using project management tools to maintain organization and track project progress (Monday.com is the tool we use)
Conducting assessments and evaluations using both quantitative and qualitative data
Additional administrative tasks as needed
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in science, business, health care or equivalent experience (1-2 years)
Strong business acumen in project planning and management
Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills
Proven record of project management on small-to-moderate scale projects (budget, impact, or time) full cycle from initiation to project close (completion, project planning, execution and status reporting)
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Experience working in a biotech, life science, and/or startup setting
Experience working with scientists
Phase Genomics requires a COVID vaccination for in-person business. All employees, including remote employees working in other states, will be required to come to the office periodically. Therefore, all employees are required to present proof of vaccination status upon hire unless they qualify for an approved exemption (medical or religious).
