The Opportunity

This role will be responsible for strengthening the strategy governance, reporting and controls environment for the Ally Card credit strategy. This is a key role that supports the strategic mission to grow the card business in a well-governed and sustainable manner.
Ally announced the acquisition of Fair Square Financial, a digital-first credit card provider, in October of 2021. Ally Credit Card is a team that has combined the experience of seasoned talent from across the card industry with advanced analytical and machine learning techniques to develop and optimize our business. Our integrated and entrepreneurial team built the business up from scratch in 2016 to 1MM plus customers, with significant growth opportunities in the future. This is your opportunity to join our diverse and innovative Ally Credit Card team as we focus on growing the business and delivering compelling products that focus on doing the right thing for our customers.

The Work Itself

Drive credit strategies for existing credit card customers. Strategy treatment areas include Credit Line Increase, Closure, Multicard, Product Upgrades, Balance Build, Purchase Stimulation and Retention
Maintain close integration with Acquisition Strategy counterparts to ensure a tight feedback loop across Acquisition and Portfolio Valuations and Strategies.
Partner with Decision Science/Modeling partners to influence the statistical model development to be used in portfolio strategies
Advance an integrated test-and-learn agenda in concert with the Marketing functions, that seeks to optimize the outcomes
Develop and implement analytical frameworks to monitor empirical results of various test and roll-out programs.
Conduct ad-hoc analyses to drive insights on performance and identify opportunities to optimize the strategy.
Manage and update valuation models that estimate the unit economics at a highly granular level. Estimate and frequently update the loss and revenue curves for various segments to continually improve the accuracy of valuations and the associated strategies

The Skills You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field with 3+ years of analytical experience (or Master’s with 2+ years) in a high-impact role using data to make decisions
High degree of expertise with SQL, Excel, and PowerPoint
Expertise with Python, Tableau, or other data analysis tools
Understanding of unsecured credit as well as extensive knowledge of financial analysis, effective risk management practices, and analytical methodologies
Experience in financial services or consulting or corporate strategy
The candidate must be extremely comfortable working hands-on with large analytical datasets to perform complex analysis and extract business insights
Demonstrated ability to learn rapidly and solve problems dynamically
Self-starter; comfortable with ambiguity and open-ended problems
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
High degree of initiative with a strong drive for results
