JOB SUMMARY:
The Alpha Genesis, Inc. (AGI) Laboratory Research Veterinarian will be responsible for the clinical veterinary care of research animals, animal protocol and amendment review, investigator training, and other duties to ensure compliance with accrediting and regulatory organizations.
In addition to research support, the Laboratory Research Veterinarian will assist management with ensuring compliance with AAALAC, USDA, OLAW, Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and other worldwide regulatory requirements. The individual will also assist in the development of Institutional Animal Care and Use protocols, contribute to and review SOPs, policies and aid in implementing the program of clinical evaluation and veterinary medical care for non-human primates bred for research, and training staff in animal care and use.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
DVM/VMD from a veterinary medical college accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association. Current state licensure in at least one state and able to obtain licensure in South Carolina within 60 days of hire. The Laboratory Research Veterinarian must be eligible to obtain DEA licensure. Three-five years of laboratory primate experience is preferred. Post-doctoral or veterinary research experience is preferred. ACLAM eligibility or diplomate status is highly preferred.
