We are currently hiring for a Human Resources Specialist. The location of this position is flexible within our Midwest region. Competitive salary is offered.
The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for handling records and data, digitally, throughout the career cycle of our nearly 350 employees throughout our 13-state region and providing customer-centric resources that contributes to and builds a positive employee experience. In addition, the Specialist leads HR programs that are in alignment with AHA’s talent management strategy.

The Midwest region includes: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
Responsibilities

Manage the maintenance of all employee files, digitally. This includes entering, processing, monitoring, and auditing employee information in Workday.
Prepare, maintain, and distribute weekly, quarterly and adhoc reports.
Serve as the region lead on employee wellness. Work to garner employee participation in the AHA’s wellness program to reach desired participation goals.
Ensure region reaches 100% completion of all required compliance courses and serves as a member of the regional compliance committee.
Manage the Amazon Gift Card program which includes ordering gift cards, ensuring gift cards are delivered in a timely manner, communications regarding program, and tracking participation and budget.
Coordinate the onboarding and offboarding of all regional interns.
Provide HR related customer service to employees and serve as region liaison to My HR Connection.
Build and distribute online department surveys as appropriate.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience in a related role, including experience in project management.
Knowledge of standard Human Resources practices, office procedures, and recordkeeping.
Must have earned a high school diploma or GED.
Strong interpersonal skills and outstanding customer service skills.
Ability to interact with all levels of the organization and work with diverse individuals/groups.
MS Office proficient with advanced Excel skills. Experience using MS SharePoint preferred.
Experience using Workday preferred.
Experience facilitating presentations preferred.
