The Residence Inn Dover is accepting applicants for the position of Houseperson. This position helps to support our housekeeping and maintenance at the property. The Houseperson is responsible for ensuring that our internal and external guests are receiving a positive extraordinary experience. You will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the public areas, offices, and restrooms in the hotels. This includes, but is not limited to, sweeping, mopping, emptying trash / recycling, assisting with special events, cleaning toilets and kitchen areas, assisting Housekeeping department as needed, and more. You can expect physically demanding work that includes using tools / equipment, constantly moving, a lot of walking, lifting / pushing heavy items, and more. You can also expect exposure through use of cleaning chemicals and other potential irritants.
Requirements:
Have general cleaning / housekeeping knowledge or experience
Basic Maintenance knowledge or experience
Must be available weekends
Possess a sincere desire to help people
Maintain a professional and well-groomed appearance
Be able to stand and walk for extended periods, fully bend, and lift / push 50+ lbs
Be able to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Be able to speak and understand basic English
Have the ability to respond quickly to changing needs of hotel guests and staff
Preferably have previous hotel experience
Be able to use and be around cleaning products
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 – $13.00 per hour
