Description :
This is a full-time position, 260 days/year.
Work Schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM M-F
Purpose Statement: The job of “Maintenance” is done for the purpose/s of maintaining facilities in safe operating condition; maintaining a preventative maintenance program; documenting information; and resolving immediate operational and/or safety concerns.
Essential Functions:
Builds counter tops, cabinets, storage units, ramps, gates, partitions, cases,
shelving, etc. for the purpose of producing required cabinetry and furnishings.
Coordinates with other staff for the purpose of completing projects/work orders
efficiently.
Diagnoses problems and/or failures in heating/air conditioning/refrigeration
systems for the purpose of identifying repair and replacement needs necessary to
maintain equipment and systems.
Document work/projects using electronic work flow processes determined by
district policies and/or procedures for the purpose of tracking real time labor and
material cost for budgeting.
Inspects facilities, systems and their component machinery requiring skilled
maintenance trades (i.e. electrical, HVAC, plumbing, security, etc.) for the
purpose of identifying potential repairs and providing an ongoing program of
preventive maintenance.
Installs cabinets, storage units, partitions, doors, bulletin boards, etc. for the
purpose of completing projects safely and within established time frames.
Installs electrical systems including communications, audio visual, alarms (e.g.
signal system), etc. for the purpose of maintaining them in safe operating
condition.
Installs machinery and equipment requiring skilled maintenance trades (i.e.
electrical, HVAC, plumbing, security, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining
facilities in a safe, comfortable and operating condition.
Installs plumbing systems and fixtures including sinks, hot water heaters,
drinking fountains, etc. for the purpose of providing comfort, sanitation and safety
within facilities.
Prepares documentation for the purpose of providing written support and/or
conveying information.
Procures equipment, supplies and materials for the purpose of maintaining
availability of required items and completing jobs efficiently.
Remodels office and work space for the purpose of ensuring safe and efficient
utilization of space.
Renovates plumbing systems for the purpose of meeting appropriate accessibility
to students, staff and the public and/or building code/s (safety and health).
Repairs furniture, floors, roofs, floor tile, cabinets, ceilings, walls, etc. for the
purpose of ensuring the safe and efficient utilization of space.
Repairs systems requiring the skills of maintenance trades (i.e. electrical, HVAC,
plumbing, security, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining facilities in safe,
comfortable and operating condition.
Responds to emergency as may be required, and with notice is on 24-hour call for
the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
Transports various items (e.g. equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of
providing materials at job site as required to complete tasks.
Other Functions:
Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in
the completion of their work activities.
Designs systems/projects for the purpose of implementing new layouts.
Other duties as assigned.
