Description :
Young With Options Academic Center is seeking a professional and experienced ECE educator with excellent written, communication, organizational and leadership skills for our Center Director position at our West Philadelphia location. This individual shall also love working/supporting children and families, and willingness to provide hands-on classroom support as needed. The following are the job responsibilities and essential functions:
Effectively operates and manages all aspects of our child care center
Oversees and manages all creative and age-appropriate programs to all children served.
Actively develops and maintains positive family and community relations.
Enrolls and maintains high capacity utilization. Manages all resources effectively and within budget. Establishes strong working relationships with state licensing authorities.
Completes all required paperwork and record keeping on a timely basis and maintains same in an organized, up-to-date manner. This includes all center files: student and staff.
Plans school activities and actively participates in staff meetings, training sessions, open houses, planning sessions.
Develops and maintains professional working relationships with teachers.
Anticipates staffing needs, prepares and posts weekly staffing schedule, and modifies it accordingly depending upon daily attendance in each classroom.
Follows all childcare state regulations
Ensures academy compliance with all federal and state laws.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with at least 2+ yrs of Director experience in childcare
Associates Degree with 3+ yrs of Director experience in childcare
CACFP experience a plus
Overview
The Center Director is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and quality of education, for all children within the center’s care. The Center Director is directly accountable for overall daily management in accordance with well-established guidelines, including curriculum, staff and facilities management, and classroom and center activity planning. The Center Director ensures that the needs of the students and the goals of the center are met appropriately and the facility is given appropriate attention and care.
Young With Options Academic Center has a presence in the community and often coordinates givebacks, holiday drives, park clean ups, family fun days and more. A candidate with a passion for the community/non-profit work, and event planning is a plus!
