To ensure everyone in UX can focus on delivering the best experiences for our users, we need a UX Operations Program Manager to join our newly established UX Operations practice. In this role, you’ll oversee the development of programs and processes that make life better for everyone in UX—from overseeing all our UX and research tools, to managing UX vendors and maintaining hardware and software in our UX research labs across the country. You’ll also be responsible for providing real-time tool support for UXers, establishing a process for requesting new tools, and partnering with multiple finance teams to forecast spend, request additional budget, and responsibly handle company resources. As a steadfast advocate for UX health and happiness you’ll proactively look for ways to improve the way we work and deliver an exceptional user experience for Indeed users. You’ll balance multiple tactical projects with grace, and own efforts from start to finish partnering with your manager and a variety of stakeholders. Ultimately, you are a servant leader who has an understanding of UX design and is passionate about helping others be successful.

Responsibilities

Oversee the administration, procurement, license policies, and budget planning for all UX tools.
Develop and oversee a governance plan to regularly review existing UX tools and vendors, including tracking usage, anticipating opportunities to increase licenses/budgets, sunsetting duplicative tools, and ensuring all renewals are handled on-time.
Expertly manage and maintain Qualtrics to support the wide variety of research studies we run.
Understand the needs of cross-functional stakeholders then use research and analytical skills to design and roll out new software by evaluating and recommending solutions from various options, then working with our contracts, finance, and privacy teams to onboard those solutions.
Confidently work across multiple business units to build relationships, develop business cases, and coordinate funding for tools.
Put together quarterly tool and vendor usage reports to share with UX leadership, our business partners, and the greater UX community, and use strong analytical skills and UX expertise to make recommendations on any changes.
Meet with tool and vendor account managers to share feedback, plan communication about updates, and organize training.
Identify best practices and create documentation, templates, and resources to help designers, researchers, content designers, and design engineers across all of Indeed use our tool-set to deliver a higher quality user experience that helps people get jobs.
Leverage change management best practices to ensure the successful adoption of new UX tools and vendors.
Coordinate with IT, AV, and office management to ensure our research labs are operational, and maintain the hardware and software necessary to support on-site research.
Manage multiple projects at a time, working closely with your manager to anticipate and mitigate risk and prioritize the most important things.
Build relationships across Indeed UX so you can better understand our ecosystem and collaborate with relevant stakeholders.
Proactively and effectively keep stakeholders informed of your work, and the work of the greater UX Ops team.
Advocate for and support a culture of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
Amplify the UX culture by socializing and modeling norms, and encouraging follow-through on commitments, principles, and agreed-upon practices.
Regularly reflect on your work and explore innovative ways to strengthen the UX org and improve our internal processes and systems.

Who You Are

Requirements

5+ years leading and supporting local and remote cross-functional UX teams, including interaction, visual, brand, and content designers, researchers, and design engineers.
5+ years experience leading large and complex cross-functional programs/projects and building relationships across teams in-person and remotely.
3+ years of experience managing design and research tools. Experience managing software in research labs and deep experience with Qualtrics is a plus.
Demonstrated experience influencing senior management and setting expectations for major cross-functional initiatives.
Successfully executed enterprise-wide initiatives: defined project plans at scale, coordinated resources, managed implementation activities, and developed all processes associated with program rollout and ongoing support.
Adaptable and flexible approach to your work and comfort with ambiguity in a fast-paced hyper-growth environment.
Excellent interpersonal effectiveness and communication skills (written and oral).
Strong attention to detail and organizational and project management skills like planning, overseeing work, and communicating progress.
Effective analytical skills with an ability to identify issues and resolve, or identify the internal resources to assist.
Are a positive and inspiring leader that demonstrates curiosity, humility, and empathy in all that you do.
A creative, self-starter with a bias for action.

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed’s total compensation package for employees.
