About this job:
The primary role of the Contract Management Specialist is to contribute to the effective planning, coordination, implementation and monitoring of the Third Party Governance Contract Management Policy and Program for the Banks core business. The role includes participation in implementation of processes to analyze and review contracts and proposals, negotiate with vendors, partner with line of business leaders in outsourcing strategies, identify potential risk in the third party contract portfolio, and provide reporting for presentation to upper management. Develop contract management processes and procedures. Support Legal, Compliance, Vendor Management, and Information Security teams and projects as needed.
As a Contract Management Specialist you will:
Assist in development, implementation, and maintenance of the Vendor Governance Contract Management Program by identifying potential risks or inefficiencies and developing recommendations for improvement.
Conduct negotiations with new and existing vendors on pricing, terms and conditions, and services.
Partner with line of business stakeholders in meeting with vendors, research on potential vendors, vendor discussions, negotiations, and redline recommendations through final contract execution.
Partner with internal stakeholders on vendor vetting process – RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs as needed.
Support Vendor Governance team on vendor management activities.
Help to create and expand vendor sourcing and procurement process, policy, and procedures.
Partner with Legal team on identifying standard vendor terms and conditions for different levels of vendor types.
Evaluate contracts, proposals, statements of work, and contract addendums submitted by vendors.
Maintain vendor contract inventory to track contract renewals and expirations.
Assist vendor governance, legal, compliance, and information security teams in reviewing and identifying gaps in existing contracts which could pose risk to the bank. Assist in risk analysis of new vendors.
Produce reporting as needed to support vendor governance and outsourcing decisions by the bank.
Support Chief Legal Officer, Compliance Team, and Information Security Team as needed.
Performs additional projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications for Success:
Associates or Bachelors degree in business or legal studies or equivalent work experience
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
Must maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality at all times, in all situations.
Ability to work independently
Proficient in Microsoft Office (preferably Word, Excel)
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a highly detailed, fast paced environment
Banking experience in Compliance, risk management, or regulatory research preferred.
Experience with business or professional written correspondence preferred.
