Come be a part of our award-winning, nationally accredited Parks and Recreation team! The Springfield-Greene County Park Board is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill our Community Recreation Specialist positions. We have two vacancies one located in the SPARC division and one in the Accessible Recreation division.

The SPARC team has a variety of sections and assignments. We are currently looking for a candidate to join the After School Clubs and Summer Camps team! This team works to create innovative programing for day camps, clubs, and classes for a variety of age ranges. Members of this team are responsible for marketing, development, and processing registration for these programs.

The Accessible Recreation team works to provide high-quality, affordable programming for individuals with disabilities. This fun and creative team works to bring engaging and fun events and activities to a diverse group of participants! This mission is fulfilled through excellent team collaboration and a proactive, progressive approach. The Specialist will be responsible for developing programing to meet participants evolving interests, coordinating transportation logistics, building partnerships with the community, and adapting programing to meet the needs of all participants.

Qualifications and Requirements

Experience, Education, and Training

Requires two years of college with an emphasis in Recreation, Physical Education, Park Administration, Outdoor Education, Childhood Development, Education or closely related area;

OR

Two years of work experience assisting with organizing and conducting recreational activities.

PREFERRED

Education/experience related to current vacancy.
