THE POSITION
The Pennsylvania State Police is seeking an experienced, dependable, and highly motivated clerical and office support professional to serve with the Bureau of Patrol. If you are detail oriented and enjoy a fast-paced office environment, apply today!
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Clerical Assistant 2 for the Bureau of Patrol, you will provide general clerical and office support to the bureau to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. You will serve as the Timekeeper/Leave Clerk for the bureau, review time and attendance records, purchase supplies and process invoices, maintain databases and logs, perform data entry, answer and route telephone calls, process incoming and outgoing mail, maintain files, proofread and prepare correspondence and reports, process travel arrangements, provide various clerical support to bureau personnel, and perform other related duties as required. Full-time employment.
Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday – Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
Graduation from high school; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
2 years of experience using Microsoft Word.
2 years of experience working in a position that requires ordering supplies and processing payments.
2 years of experience maintaining databases, spreadsheets, and logs.
2 years of experience with preparing and formatting various correspondence, forms, and reports.
2 years of experience working in a position that requires maintaining, updating, and purging files.
2 years of experience answering and assisting with incoming telephone calls.
2 years of experience utilizing various office equipment such as a personal computer, copying machine, facsimile machine, and postage meter.
