Position Summary:
The Business Intelligence Developer is a passionate user-experience advocate, collaborating with partner data scientists, analysts, and business members to convey complicated information in an unambiguous way. Versed in dealing with a wide range of many different sources, this individual must possess the skills and creativity to synthesize data into interactive dashboards and static reporting.
The BI developer must always be curious, willing to explore and drive the unbiased presentation necessary for the success of analytical projects at all levels. Additionally, the BI developer must feel comfortable working in many functional areas and partnering with expert analysts to find the right approach to direct individuals and leaders to relevant findings, metrics, and key indicators.
Do YOU Possess These Skills and Attributes?
Experience with full software development life cycle, project documentation, and Agile methodologies preferred
Experience with a distributed source control system like Git preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
Do These Responsibilities Interest YOU?
Implement new Business Intelligence Dashboards in Qlik Sense to present uncluttered, unambiguous data based on requirements
Modify and enhance existing dashboards built in Qlik Sense, including new sheets and visualizations, data model changes, and applying standards
Design and develop star schema data models for effective consumption in dashboards
Effectively query and synthesize data from a wide variety of data sources; work independently utilizing domain knowledge
Develop new and maintain existing on-demand and subscription-based reporting in Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services or Qlik NPrinting
Construct and communicate reasonable data testing scenarios around queries, data models, reports, and dashboards
Collaborate with peers in the various analytical teams to institutionalize ad hoc reporting and dashboards
Adhere to industry and discipline best practices in analytical user experience, data modelling, query development, and documentation
Support and collaborate with App Dev on customer-facing reporting, ensuring standards adherence
Participate in code reviews and design reviews, suggesting improvements
Do YOU Meet These Requirements?
Experience with relational database development and querying
Microsoft SQL Server 2014 or later preferred
Experience with a modern Business Intelligence Tool
Qlik Sense or Infor Birst preferred
Experience with static report generation is preferred
Qlik NPrinting, Birst reporting, or Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services 2014 report development preferred
