Description :
Ben Weitsman of New Castle, a division of Weitsman Family of Companies, the East Coasts largest privately held scrap metal processor, is currently looking for an experienced Burner for our New Castle, PA location.Position Overview:
Examine metal to ensure proper size specifications.
Operate an oxy-acetyl torch for cutting various sizes of metal to specified dimensions.
Responsible for cleaning, storage and maintaining assigned PPE and equipment.
Adherence with company safety and environmental standards
Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections to ensure equipment is in good working order
Assisting with yard/facility cleanup and maintenance
Qualifications:
2-3 years previous torch/burner experience
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Ability to work in an outdoor environment
Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment up to 50 pounds
Ability to safely and efficiently operate cutting torch
Must be qualified to wear a respirator and be able to pass a respiratory fit test.
Experience working within the Scrap Metal industry an asset
Safety: This position requires the following personal protective equipment be worn at all times:
Safety glasses.
Head protection.
Hard toe work boots.
High visibility safety vest.
Other protective equipment as required.
