The
Applications Programmer II programs, tests, debugs, designs and maintains new applications or enhancements to existing applications across Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH). Designs and develops software applications that support internal or external business functions. Handles moderately complex issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher level Applications Programmers. Assists Applications Programmer I as needed.
Responsibilities:

A day in the life of a
Applications Programmer II at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

Uses established coding methods to create applications that efficiently and effectively perform specific functions.
Codes features or functionality based on detailed specifications or an understanding of business requirements.
Tests component functionality, monitors production application performance and troubleshoots issues.
Develops and maintains internal and end-user documentation.
May provide technical assistance during application implementation or maintenance.
Recommends areas for process improvements.
Perform other related duties and/or projects as assigned.
Adheres to the Medical Center’s Organizational Competencies and Standards of Behavior.
Qualifications:

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Bachelor’s level degree or equivalent years of experience in a related Information Technology (IT) or other computer field.
Two or more years of relevant experience in an IT/other computer field.
Demonstrated experience with one or more programming languages or frameworks.
Works independently and effectively manages time with some supervision.
Strong desktop skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Outlook.
Effective oral and written communication.
Creates and maintains clear, concise documentation.
Collaborates with other team members across the department.
Demonstrates self-direction.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

Healthcare experience or related field.
Information systems application programming, build and/or support.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

Epic and/or other relevant certification(s) or where applicable, equivalent applications programming experience (i.e. PeopleSoft tools).
